For the past two summers, the Indiana Department of Revenue has graciously given their time, talent, AND treasure to ensure we can continue serving Indy’s homeless veterans.
They have worked with Volunteer Coordinator, Audrey Hopkins Long, on property beautification at Warman Houses. They have done lots of different yard work activities, so the properties look beautiful for our homeless veterans who live there.
“It has been a tremendous blessing to partner with DOR in serving our veterans these past two summers,” Audrey said. “They always come in with smiling faces and generous hearts, and it means to world not only to me– but to our veterans as well.”
But not only have they given their time and talent, but they have given their treasure as well. As part of the State Employees Community Campaign, 2018 chair and DOR Commissioner Adam Krupp, chose HVAF to be the beneficiary for the 2018-2019 season. They were able to raise lots of money for us through bake sales, jeans day, and other fundraisers.
“We feel fortunate and are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to cultivate a partnership with HVAF of Indiana, providing DOR’s public servants an avenue to give back to those who have served our country,” Adam said. “Our team spirit and enthusiasm for serving others continues to grow with each opportunity to support the organization and those it serves, through personal financial donations and physical labor to help keep housing properties clean and welcoming to veterans who otherwise have nowhere to go. We can never do enough to thank those who sacrificed for us, but we hope our contributions make a difference.”
Thank you, DOR, for everything you have done and continue to do for Indiana’s homeless veterans community!
