HVAF provides housing to more than 200 previously homeless veterans through a mix of properties that include free-standing homes and apartment complexes throughout Central Indiana. In addition to homes and apartments, HVAF’s Residential, Employment and Substance Abuse Treatment program offers dormitories to its clients which are located inside the HVAF headquarters building in Downtown Indianapolis. Each HVAF property has been donated by members in the community. HVAF had assistance in purchasing buildings from the Department of Veterans Affairs and United Way of Central Indiana.
A veteran is able to receive housing only after meeting with an HVAF case manager to access individual needs and goals.
